Winemaker's diary
Do you want to celebrate spring by swallowing some Ilias?:-) And experience the beauty of Pálava in spring at the same time? It does not matter whether you come hiking, biking or by car, just make sure you stop at our cellar in Pavlov. As of 1 May, the doors of our cellar will be opened to the passers-by every weekend! You can taste a few samples on the spot or take away a bottle of your favourite Ilias.
And if you can't take away anything on the spot, don't despair - you can try Best of Ilias as selected by Vínoklub, and they will deliver it to your doorstep! Or you can create your own box of Ilias' wines and have it deliver throu our e-shop!:-)
We plan:
On Thursday, 24 June, you will be able to taste not only how 2008 has matured in bottles but also some of freshly bottled 2009 samples, in the U Andersena wineshop at Slovákova 8 in Brno.
On another Thursday, 24 June, we continue our little South Moravia winetasting tour in the Jupitéka wine shop at Velkomoravská street 19 in Hodonín.
Another year of the traditional and more and more popular Summer of open cellars will take place between June and September 2010
We are looking forward to seeing you in our cellar during the first weekend in August, i.e. 6. - 8. August 2010.
And the following Saturday, 14 August, Pavlov will host a traditional annual folk-costume festival "Hody":) We hope that you can make it to Pavlov on at least one of these occassions.
It happened:
10 June: Today we added Ryzlink rýnský to our 2009 wines in stock. Previously, we bottled Chardonnay and Pinot blanc. All lovely full semi-sweet wines...
On Saturday 5 June you could taste our wines on the occasion of the Day of Wine in the Vinum Coeli hotel in Dolní Kounice. The winetasting was followed by a traditional food and wine feast. We enjoyed the seven-course menu very very much!.
On Thursday 20 May we followed up on the success of the Tábor Wine Festival by a presentation of our wines in the Vinotéka U černého kocoura a zeleného stromu wineshop.
12 May: Finally, we are bottling. So far, we have 1.150 bottles of Pinot noir 2008, but we will soon proceed to first white ones of 2009!
8 May: It looks like we are going to have a lovely sunny day in Pavlov today. Ideal for some hiking or biking trip, and some wine tasting... :))
In a biodynamically very suitable period of the year, in the second half of April, we decided to plant Pálava seedlings. In order for you to be able to enjoy it as much as we did, we made this small gallery...:-)

25 April: Since spring is definitely here, we are changing our website's coat again... And we add some pictures of spring in Pálava so that you can enjoy as much of it as possible too.

8 April Hurray, we have finished this year's cutting and binding for this year! :-) We are slowly approaching another round of bottling... :-)

On 27 March 2010 we took part in a selling exhibition at the second year of wine festival in Tábor. The festival started on 12 March and its programme included may interesting events. You can check itout at their official website.
10 February 2010 Since winter does not seem to be retiring yet, we re-designed our website to a more winter-like attire:-) We believe it befits it well
... and we continue updating our gallery of winter pictures from Pálava

Do you want to know what do winemakers do in winter? When we are not tasting wines (either in our cellar or at some competitor's :-)) or barrelling, adding sulphur or other necessary substances, we can enjoy this year's beautiful winter in Palava..
On 19 January 2010, we tasted 2008 wines with the Vínoklub wine club at the Monarch wine bar in Prague, at Na Perstyne. Both the audience and us enjoy the evening thoroughly, including raclette at the very end.
